Who Should Use It? All About Spelling is often used as a homeschool curriculum, but can be used in schools and ABA programs and centers.
What's Included? There are seven levels (kits) of the program, and each kit contains slightly different resources and materials. Generally, each kit contains a teacher's manual and student packet with all flashcards and materials. You will also purchase one Spelling Interactive Kit that is used for all levels and includes magnetic letter tiles and a review box (for the cards) with dividers. Specific contents of each kit can be found on the All About Spelling website: http://allaboutlearningpress.net/go.php?id=1079_3_1_91
About the All About Spelling Program: All About Spelling is an easy-to-use and comprehensive spelling program. The lessons are based on teaching children spelling patters and rules and these gradually become more advanced as you progress through the curriculum. I think that the way the program is organized is very helpful for teaching students spelling skills and I think that the spelling activities are great. This program has everything you need to work on spelling for your children or students, but I also add in some additional fun spelling activities for each word set, such as writing words from the spelling list on a tray of sand or in shaving cream.
How Much Time Do We Work on All About Spelling Daily? All About Spelling recommends spending about 20 minutes per each school (or homeschool) day on spelling. The amount of time will spend on your individual child’s needs, but they suggest that it is better to complete a shorter lesson daily than longer lessons less frequently.
